Fine and Rare George III Period Mahogany Double-Sided Desk
Fine and rare George III period mahogany double-sided desk; the front with nine drawers surrounding the kneehole and central dummy-door; the reverse with three frieze drawers above a bank of three central drawers, flanked by a pair of cupboards with astragal-moulded panelled doors, one enclosing twelve pigeon-holes and the other a shelf; all with original brass swan’s neck handles and side carrying-handles; the moulded and crossbanded top lined with tooled leather; on bracket feet. Some of the drawers retaining elegantly-lettered manuscript labels, bill and stamp receipts, rent charges, replevins etc.
